The Norwegian Eliteserien, also known as the Tippeligaen, is the top professional football league in Norway. It was established in 1937 and is one of the oldest leagues in Europe. The league consists of 16 teams, with each team playing a total of 30 matches throughout the season. Rosenborg BK is the most successful team in the history of the Eliteserien, having won the league title a record 26 times. Interestingly, the league has a unique tradition of playing matches on artificial turf, which is uncommon in many other European leagues.
