The Russian National Football League, also known as the PFL, is the second-tier professional football league in Russia. It was established in 1992, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The league consists of 20 teams, with the top two earning promotion to the Russian Premier League at the end of the season. Over the years, several teams have enjoyed success in the league, including FC Rostov, FC Krasnodar, and FC Ufa. An interesting fact is that FC Baltika Kaliningrad is the only team in the league located outside of mainland Russia, as they are based in the exclave of Kaliningrad.
