Competition Overview
The Serbian Super liga, founded in 2006, is the top professional football league in Serbia. It replaced the First League of Serbia and Montenegro after the dissolution of the state union. The league consists of 20 teams, with each team playing a total of 38 matches in a season. Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade have been the most successful teams in the league's history, with numerous domestic titles to their name. An interesting fact is that Red Star Belgrade won the European Cup in 1991, becoming the first club from the former Yugoslavia to achieve such a feat.
