Atlas is a Mexican soccer club based in Guadalajara. Founded in 1916, it is one of the oldest clubs in the country. The team plays its home matches at the Estadio Jalisco, which it shares with its city rivals, Chivas. Atlas is known as "Los Zorros" (The Foxes) due to the cunning and agility associated with the animal. Throughout its history, Atlas has had varying degrees of success. The club has won the Mexican Primera División championship once, in the 1950-1951 season. Additionally, Atlas has reached the final of the Copa MX on three occasions. Despite not being one of the most decorated clubs in Mexico, Atlas has a passionate fan base and is an important institution in Guadalajara.
