Botafogo RJ, officially known as Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, is a Brazilian soccer club based in Rio de Janeiro. Founded in 1904, it is one of the oldest and most traditional clubs in the country. Botafogo's home venue is the Estádio Nilton Santos, also known as Engenhão, which has a capacity of around 46,000 spectators. The club's nickname is "Fogão," which means "big stove" in Portuguese. This nickname is derived from the club's original name, Botafogo Football Club, which was inspired by the Botafogo neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. Throughout its history, Botafogo has achieved numerous accomplishments, including winning the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A twice and the Copa do Brasil once. The club has also produced several talented players who have represented the Brazilian national team.
