Botev Plovdiv is a Bulgarian football club based in the city of Plovdiv. Founded in 1912, the club has a rich history and is one of the oldest in the country. Botev Plovdiv has had periods of success throughout its existence, with its most notable accomplishments coming in the 1980s. During this time, the club won the Bulgarian Cup twice and finished as runners-up in the Bulgarian league. The team plays its home matches at the Todor Diev Stadium, which has a capacity of around 18,000 spectators. Botev Plovdiv is affectionately known as "The Canaries" due to the yellow color of their home kit. The club has a passionate fan base and enjoys a fierce rivalry with the other major Plovdiv-based team, Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
