CR Flamengo, also known as Flamengo, is a Brazilian soccer club based in Rio de Janeiro. Founded in 1895, it is one of the oldest and most successful clubs in Brazil. Flamengo's home venue is the Maracanã Stadium, one of the most iconic stadiums in the world. The club has a passionate fan base and is nicknamed "Mengão" or "Rubro-Negro" due to its red and black team colors. Flamengo has a rich history of success, winning numerous national and international titles. They have won the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A seven times, most recently in 2019. Flamengo's most notable achievement came in 1981 when they won the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup, becoming the first Brazilian club to win both prestigious competitions in the same year.
