CSD Municipal, a prominent soccer club based in Guatemala City, has a rich history and numerous accomplishments. Founded in 1936, the club has established itself as one of the most successful in Guatemalan football. Municipal has won the Liga Nacional de Guatemala a record 30 times, making them the most successful club in the country. Their home venue is the Estadio Manuel Felipe Carrera, also known as El Trébol, which has a capacity of around 17,000 spectators. The club is affectionately known as "Los Rojos" (The Reds) due to their traditional red and white striped kit. Municipal has a passionate fan base and enjoys a fierce rivalry with fellow Guatemalan club Comunicaciones.
