Deportivo Mixco is a professional soccer club based in Mixco, Guatemala. The club was founded in 1949 and has a rich history in Guatemalan football. Over the years, Deportivo Mixco has competed in various divisions of the Guatemalan football league system. One of the major accomplishments of the club was winning the Liga Nacional de Guatemala in the 1978-1979 season. This success allowed them to participate in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup, where they reached the quarterfinals. Deportivo Mixco's home venue is the Estadio Santo Domingo, located in Mixco. The club is affectionately known as "Los Chicharroneros," which translates to "The Pork Cracklings" in English. The nickname is derived from the traditional dish of Mixco, which is famous for its delicious pork cracklings. Despite not being one of the most prominent clubs in Guatemala, Deportivo Mixco has a loyal fan base and continues to play an important role in the country's football landscape.
