Glentoran FC, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is one of the oldest and most successful soccer clubs in the country. Founded in 1882, the club has a rich history and a passionate fan base. Glentoran FC plays their home matches at The Oval, a stadium located in East Belfast. The club is commonly known as "The Glens" and their nickname is derived from the area in which they were originally formed. Glentoran FC has enjoyed numerous accomplishments throughout their history, including winning the Irish League title a record 23 times and the Irish Cup on 23 occasions. They have also had success in European competitions, reaching the quarter-finals of the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 1966-67 season.
