They play their home matches at the Estadio Yankel Rosenthal, which has a capacity of around 25,000 spectators. Marathon has had several notable accomplishments throughout its history. They have won the Honduran Liga Nacional title on multiple occasions, with their most recent triumph coming in the 2019-2020 season. The club has also had success in international competitions, reaching the final of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 1972. Known as "Los Verdolagas," which translates to "The Green Ones," Marathon's nickname is a reference to their traditional green and white team colors. The club has a strong fan base and is known for its passionate supporters who create an electric atmosphere during matches. Interesting fact: Marathon has a fierce rivalry with fellow San Pedro Sula-based club Real España, with matches between the two teams known as the "Clásico Sampedrano."
