Palmeiras, a Brazilian soccer club based in São Paulo, has a rich history and numerous accomplishments. Founded in 1914, the club has established itself as one of the most successful teams in Brazil. Palmeiras has won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A a record ten times, with their most recent victory in 2018. They have also triumphed in the Copa do Brasil four times and the Copa Libertadores once, in 1999. The club's home venue is the Allianz Parque, a modern stadium with a capacity of over 43,000 spectators. Palmeiras is affectionately known as "Verdão" (Big Green) due to their traditional green and white colors. Interestingly, the club was named after the Italian city of Palermo, as many of its founding members were of Italian descent.
