Salgaocar Sports Club, based in Vasco da Gama, Goa, is one of the oldest and most successful football clubs in India. Founded in 1956, the club has a rich history and has been a prominent force in Indian football. Salgaocar Sports Club has won the I-League, the top division of Indian football, on three occasions, in 1998, 2011, and 2014. They have also been runners-up in the Federation Cup, the premier knockout tournament in Indian football, on four occasions. The club's home venue is the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco da Gama. Salgaocar Sports Club is affectionately known as the "Green Brigade" due to their green and white team colors.
