Shanghai Port FC, formerly known as Shanghai SIPG FC, is a professional soccer club based in Shanghai, China. The club was founded in 2005 and has since become one of the most successful teams in Chinese football. They play their home matches at the Yuanshen Sports Centre Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 16,000. Shanghai Port FC has achieved several major accomplishments in recent years. They won their first Chinese Super League title in 2018, under the guidance of Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira. The team also reached the final of the AFC Champions League in 2018, narrowly losing to Japan's Kashima Antlers. The club is nicknamed "The Port" due to its location in Shanghai, a major port city. Shanghai Port FC has a strong fan base and is known for its attacking style of play, often relying on quick counter-attacks and skillful wingers to create scoring opportunities.
