Universidad Cesar Vallejo is a Peruvian soccer club based in Trujillo, La Libertad. Founded in 1996, the club has quickly risen through the ranks of Peruvian football. They gained promotion to the top-flight Primera Division in 2004 and have since established themselves as a competitive force in the league. The club's home venue is the Estadio Mansiche, a stadium with a capacity of around 25,000 spectators. Universidad Cesar Vallejo is commonly known as "Los Poetas" (The Poets), a nickname that reflects the club's close association with the university of the same name. The club's founders were students of the university, and the team has maintained a strong connection with the academic institution throughout its history. Despite being a relatively young club, Universidad Cesar Vallejo has achieved notable success. They have won the Peruvian Segunda Division on three occasions, in 2006, 2008, and 2011, earning promotion to the top division each time. Additionally, they have reached the final of the Copa Inca in 2014 and the Copa Sudamericana in 2015, showcasing their ability to compete at a continental level.
