Hermannstadt is a Romanian football club based in Sibiu, a city in the Transylvania region. The club was founded in 2015 and quickly rose through the lower divisions to reach the top tier of Romanian football. Despite being a relatively new club, Hermannstadt has already made a mark in Romanian football. In the 2017-2018 season, they finished as runners-up in the Liga II, earning promotion to the Liga I for the first time in their history. Their home venue is the Municipal Stadium in Sibiu, which has a capacity of around 8,000 spectators. The club is commonly known as "Sepcile Rosii" (The Red Caps), a nickname derived from the red caps worn by the traditional Romanian shepherds in the region.
